Applying to Aalto

Aalto University offers the highest level of education in economics, art and design, and technology. You can now study combinations of these disciplines within the framework of your own degree.

You can graduate from Aalto University as a Master of Science in Architecture, a Master of Science in Technology, a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration, or a Master of Arts. You will then be well-qualified for a wide range of professional positions, and you will also be prepared for a career as an independent entrepreneur.

The application period for Bachelor’s programmes begins in the spring of each year. The application period for Master’s programmes starts at the beginning of each year.

Beyond the Master’s level it is possible to apply for doctoral studies with the aim of graduating as a Doctor of Economics and Business Administration, a Doctor of Philosophy, a Doctor of Arts or a Doctor of Technology.

General admission criteria

Aalto University admits students to both Bachelor's and Master's degrees once a year. Eligible applicants for a Master’s programme must hold a Bachelor’s degree in the same field or in a relevant one. International applicants must provide an official language certificate as evidence of their level of proficiency in English.

The admission criteria and application processes are field-specific. Also, the admission criteria will be confirmed each year separately and it may vary from year to year.

Please note that the Erasmus Mundus and Nordic Master Programmes in the field of Technology and Engineering have their own application procedures and schedules.
