Admission to take only the Bachelor's degree at the Mikkeli Business Campus
The Mikkeli Campus offers an intensive Bachelor´s degree in a degree program in International Business. The degree gives students an up-to-date education that combines extensive theoretical studies with real business life experience. The language of instruction is English.
The Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration, BScBA (180 ECTS credits) can be obtained in less than three years. The final semester is completed abroad.
The Bachelor’s Degree Program in International Business (also called the BScBA Degree Program) offered at the Aalto University School of Economics Mikkeli Campus has its own unique admission process and criteria. You will find the Admission Guide 2012 below (both in English and in Finnish) with full admission criteria.
The applications to the BScBA Degree Program are sent through the joint application system of Finnish universities (online or by mail): www.yliopistohaku.fi. The online application form is available during the application period March 5 – April 3, 2012 (by 4:15 p.m., GMT +2:00 hrs). Please note that the application form will be available only after the application period begins (March 5, 2012).
There is a separate schedule for delivering the requested attachments and the SAT Reasoning Test score report (depending on your admission group) to the admission office of Aalto University. Therefore it is important that you choose your admission group correctly. After filling in the online application form you can see a list of the requested attachments you have to send to Aalto University and the correct delivery address. July 6, 2012 Admission decisions made by the Dean of the Aalto University School of Economics are finalized at the latest by this date (also decisions for the applicants who have been placed on the reserve list of their admission group)
July 16, 2012 at 4:15 p.m. Final IB, EB and RP grades earned in 2012 must be received by Aalto University by this date (preferably earlier). These applicants will be informed immediately after this date if they are accepted to the program.
July 31, 2012 The latest possible date of foreign high school diplomas
July 31, 2012 at 4:15 p.m. Last day to accept a study place at the Mikkeli Bachelor's Degree Program in International Business (the Aalto School of Economics prefers to have the confirmations by July 27, 2012)
Week 34 Studies begin with mandatory orientation week (part of the course Professional Development Portfolio)
In year 2011 Aalto University School of Economics, Mikkeli campus received 848 applications from 58 different countries. With the 80 study places per year this means that only approximately 10% of the applicants will receive a study place from us. Of all the applicants, about 69% were Finnish by nationality whereas the amount of foreigners was 31% . 68,5% of the Finnish applicants were from Uusimaa region. 24 applicants were from the South Savo region (approximately 4% from all Finnish applicants).
Application period 2012
The application period for two-year Master's Programmes is 2 January - 15 February, 2012.
The application period for Bachelor's programmes is 5 March - 3 April, 2012.
