Who can apply
The prerequisite for admission is a BA in the field or equivalent skills and knowledge.
Description of the degree programme
The Costume Design area of specialisation deepens and broadens professional competence in the field, in terms of both artistic expression and technical skills. The studies are full-time. Students make a personal study plan, taking into account their experience and knowledge of the field, and their personal interests. A large proportion of studies are carried out in joint implementations and productions with the Degree Programme in Film and TV, the Theatre Academy and the professional field.
Objectives of the degree programme
The aim is to produce competent graduates who are ready to work as artists or designers in the field or take postgraduate studies in the area.
Course languages
Finnish. Some lectures and workshops are in English, and personal tutoring can be received in English.
Employment prospects
Graduates of the Master’s Degree Programme can either work in traditional costume design for performing arts, film or TV, or apply their competence to new/developing fields or other professions.
Portfolio
The portfolio for Master's Degree Programme in Design for Theatre, Film and Television, Costume Design area of specialisation can be either wholly or partly digital.

Evaluation criteria in applicant selection
On the basis of the first stage, some applicants may be invited for an interview. If necessary, they may be asked to show more work samples. There is no other entrance examination.
The application period for the two-year Master of Arts degree programmes is 2 January - 15 February, 2012.
