Scenographers are artistic designers responsible for the visual, spatial and functional elements of an artistic team production. The Scenography area of specialisation deepens professional competence in the field, in terms of both artistic expression and technical skills. The aim is to prepare graduates to work as designers and artists in the field, or for postgraduate studies.
Students make a personal study plan, taking into account their experience and knowledge of the field. The studies are full-time. Many of the courses and theatrical assignments are arranged in collaboration with the Theatre Academy.
Graduates can work as traditional production designers in theatre or apply their competence to other professions, such as exhibition architecture, teaching or research.
The course language is Finnish. Some lectures and workshops are in English. Students may also receive personal tutoring in English.
This programme will not accept new students in 2012.
