The MDP in Creative Sustainability (CS) is a new cross-disciplinary Master’s degree programme of Aalto University School of Art and Design, School of Economics and School of Science and Technology.
The CS programme is a joint teaching platform of the Aalto University on sustainable design & business. It is built on a number of fundamental disciplines: responsible business operations, urban planning, landscaping, design, construction planning and architecture, and industrial design in general.
The education in the programme enhances system approach and strategic thinking in all scales, from complex ecosystems, urban and industrial infrastructures, technologies, businesses to individual choices, in order to support sustainable future. It boosts re-thinking in business management, design & architecture, industrial management, and real estate.
The main aim of the CS programme is to develop competences and skills in the areas of project management, design, cross-disciplinary operations and activities, systematic sustainable design and sustainable business. The programme produces creative solutions for sustainable living, urban development, environmental planning and service production (e.g. welfare services).
The programme aims to train multidisciplinary professionals who can handle complex large-scale entities and work together with experts from diverse fields. Teaching language is English.
