Foundations of Advanced Computing

Foundations of Advanced Computing

Study advanced computing and become an architect of future computing systems!

The global computing infrastructure of the future will be founded on a complex and extensively distributed network of heterogeneous subsystems of varying degrees of autonomy. The emergence of this structure will lead to fundamentally new practices in the design, development, implementation, and application of computing systems and services. Students in the Master’s Programme in Foundations of Advanced Computing (FAdCo) will receive a solid and versatile methodological education preparing them for a career in exploiting and advancing these exciting new computing technologies.

What will you learn in FAdCo?

The teaching in the department builds on its strong research areas with the goal of educating future leading experts in modern computational methodologies. The programme provides the students with fundamental conceptual tools for the modelling, design, and analysis of advanced computing systems with further spesialisation in one of its four focus areas:

  • computational logic,
  • computational complexity,
  • cryptology, and
  • distributed computation.
